Saturday and Sunday, December 6 & 7, 2008

The public is invited to the 5th annual Tri-City Artists Open Studio Tour Saturday and Sunday, December 6th and 7th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event features a tour of 9 working studios with 14 artists showcasing their work including water color, acrylics, oil painting, jewelry, fiber arts, scripture, metal arts, pottery, weaving and fused glass. Donate Christmas Baskets by December 15, 2008

Edith Bishel Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired is collecting Christmas Baskets for the elderly who do not have family or are financially in need. Please drop off your donations at the Edith Bishel Center, located at 628 North Arthur Street in Kennewick. We will need items no later than December 15th. For more information contact Cynthia McCready at 735-0699. 

Christmas Basket items include: laundry baskets, mittens, hats, flannel/sweatshirts, sweatpants, socks, postage stamps, assorted greeting cards, Kleenex, shampoo, conditioner, flashlights with batteries, first aid kits, band-aids, pill boxes, hand lotion, grip writing pens, pencils, pads paper, calendars, paper towels, paper napkins, laundry detergent, phone cards, toothpaste, dish soap, bar soap, blankets, slippers.

Food supplies are: coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water, ensure, peanut butter, jams/jellies, hard candies, low-sodium crackers, potatoes, onions, oranges, apples and pet food for birds, cats or dogs.

Each year the Elks National Foundation and your local Elks Lodge awards more than 33 million dollars in college scholarships to high school seniors that range from one to four years. So pick up an application today at your guidance counselor's office or log onto our website elks.org. Applications are due no later than January 9, 2009.

Treatment for Smokeless Tobacco Addiction

Effective treatment for smokeless tobacco addiction is available on the internet at MyLastDip.com. Chewing tobacco and snuff users ages 14 to 25 are invited to register with MyLastDip.com. The MyLastDip.com quitting program addresses the special difficulties faced by chew and snuff users, who have fewer quitting resources than do smokers. All participants will have access to a website containing information and quitting resources that have already helped thousands of chewers to quit.
